May 26th Ride to Live

The team behind the May 26th, 2013 Ride to Live (“RTL”) will be organizing their 6th annual motorcycle ride to raise funds for Prostate Cancer. Last year the Team raised over $180,000 in the 1 day ride event that kicked off at the Trev Deeley Motorcycles with a motorcycle parade that traveled through the City of Burnaby led by the Vancouver Police Motorcycle Drill Team - followed by a scenic tour through the Fraser Valley and wound up at Fraser Downs Racetrack & Casino, Cloverdale, BC with over 1,000 riders making the Ride. Primary supporters of the RTL include the 911 Community - Police, Fire, Ambulance, Sheriffs of B.C., the Canadian Armed Forces (39th Battle Group), and the motorcycle and business community. Other events may be planned by the group to help Prostate Cancer Foundation BC expand its support to prostate cancer survivors, their families and researchers in BC.

This year again we have the Ride to Live Show & Shine" in support of the Prostate Cancer fund raiser Westcoast Motorcycle Ride to Live (ridetolive.ca). This event is open to all Antique/Classic Vehicles, Hot Rods Muscle Cars etc. including Emergency & Military Vehicles & Motorcycles, which will take place at Fraser Downs Racetrack & Casino starting at !0:00 am on Sunday, May 26th.  This will allow everyone to participate in our event as it will be a people’s choice award allowing the public to vote on their favorite vehicle.  There will be a pancake breakfast for $5 put on by the Cloverdale Lions Club.

Prostate Cancer Foundation BC, a charitable organization founded in 1997, raises funds through a variety of events, including the annual Father’s Day Walk Run, The Hair Affair, Do It for Dad events and other projects. It provides support to some 25 Prostate Cancer support groups throughout BC awareness programs and research into improved treatment and in pursuit of a cure from the most serious side effects of prostate cancer.

All proceeds of our annual event are donated through the Prostate Foundation of BC and go to fund research, fund awareness campaigns and support those individuals and their families who are impacted by prostate cancer.  Last year, with the help of your sponsorship, the WESTCOAST Ride to Live donated $120,000 to help with the fight against prostate cancer
